Newham and Whipps Cross achieve Level 2 Baby-Friendly status

Congratulations to Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital who have achieved UNICEF Baby-Friendly status Stage 2.

The infant feeding leads Mary Dwase, Newham and Deepa Santhosh, Whipps Cross have trained and led the staff to achieve excellent results and now begin the journey to stage 3 and full accreditation.

The continued support by all maternity staff for the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative is valued.

Dr Gloria Rowland, Director of Midwifery and Deborah Goldsmith, Head of Midwifery at Whipps Cross would like to congratulate all staff for their support and commitment in achieving Stage 2.

The Baby-Friendly initiative is an evidence based, staged accreditation programme supports maternity, neonatal, health visiting and children’s centre services to transform their care.

It’s International Day of the Midwife this Sunday and we are celebrating!
