A&E patients praise and thank our teams for their hard work and dedication.
“On Monday my husband (73) usually a fit active and on no meds man, was in a state of near collapse. I phoned 111, couldn't get through so went online and filled in the questions. Was told to phone for an ambulance which I did, with dread, wondering how long it would take, and what awaited us at the other end, Whipps Cross hospital.
Within 20 minutes the crew, Vee and Laura arrived and were amazing. They were patient, thorough, kind and professional. They decided we needed to go to hospital. We got there quickly, were seen immediately in resus and the doctor Dan and nurse Doreen got to work. My husband was given a drug and he was monitored thoroughly throughout the day. We did have to wait, but that wasn't important as Dr Dan was doing his thing in resus and everyone was very busy. We were discharged and referred to two departments for follow ups, given prescriptions and sent home in a much better place! The outcome has been great.
We cannot thank the paramedics, Vee and Laura and all the staff at Whipps Cross A&E enough! You are all heroes as far as we are concerned and deserve better recognition and financial recompense for your skill, bravery (what politician would do what you guys did and do) and dedication. Thank you. Please pass this on to A&E.”

“I came to A&E at Whipps yesterday and was SO impressed. Things were run incredibly efficiently. I couldn't even work out how it was being done as I saw so many different people and my care was never 'dropped'. It meant that I could trust the system and the staff and just quietly read my book.
Sadly I don't recall any of the staff names but feel free to look up my name/record and praise them all! From the people on front desk to the two triage nurses I saw, to outpatients GP, to the efficient scanning department in A&E, to the wonderful doctor I saw in A&E who was so thorough and kind, took bloods and then came back to tell me the results when I assumed he'd have gone home by then. I also loved the bit where someone over the intercom thanked the day staff (YES!).
I know the NHS is going through some difficult times but you wouldn't have known it in A&E yesterday. Keep up the good work - all of you are amazing - and I wish you all the best for the future.”
