We offer dedicated facilities

For inpatients and day cases

Patients coming to the surgical centre at Newham Hospital for a knee or hip replacement are given the opportunity to visit the facilities and meet staff who will be involved in their treatment. This allows you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and understand the care and rehabilitation support you will receive before being admitted for surgery.

The sessions are hosted by a multidisciplinary team so that you can understand every aspect of your care.

Diagnosis and treatment are supported by our expert radiologists. Weekly seminars are held, at which complex trauma and elective orthopaedic cases are discussed. Imaging facilities include a state-of-the-art film-less, digital image transfer and viewing system (PACS).

By bringing together decades of experience with the latest in surgical techniques and modern technology, it helps patients to get back on their feet as soon and as safely as possible.

In 2023, the centre was officially rated among the best in the country for high clinical standards of care and fast access for patients, joining a select group of elective surgical hubs accredited by NHS England.
