On Thursday 11 February 2021, there will be a memorial service broadcast live from the Whipps Cross Hospital chapel – an opportunity for people of all faiths and beliefs to remember together those we have loved and lost over the past year and to give thanks for their lives.

The winner of the Whipps Cross Hospital Star of the Month award for December 2020 is Anna Bray, who was nominated by Zebina Ratansi for her role in leading the fit testing program at Whipps Cross.

Also, ethnic minority populations are disproportionately affected by Covid-19 as they are more likely to have front line jobs, more likely to live in multigenerational households with older relatives and themselves more likely to have health comorbidities.

Paediatric assessment unit now live at Whipps Cross

On 7 December 2020, we opened a new Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) just 100 meters away from our general emergency department. The PAU will provide same-day emergency care for paediatric patients via bookable appointments made by the patient’s GP.
