Rachel Firth, Head of Finance
Rachel has worked in financial management at the Trust since 2003, gaining her CIMA accountancy qualification early on in her career. She initially supported the corporate finance functions as a management accountant, then moved on to various finance roles across Barts and The London clinical services.
Returning from maternity leave in 2013 into the newly formed Barts Health NHS Trust, Rachel joined the Cardiovascular division as finance manager across St Bartholomew’s and The London Chest Hospitals. During this time, Rachel worked on the merging of three hospitals into the new Barts Heart Centre facility, and more recently, oversaw the financial integration of Clinical Support Services into the St Bartholomew's site.
Having acted up into the role of deputy head of finance in 2020 to cover maternity leave, Rachel was appointed permanently into this role in 2022.
She was appointed head of finance at St Bartholomew's Hospital in February 2024 after a number of months in the interm position.
