State-of-the-art MRI scanner installed at Newham Hospital

Patients at Newham University Hospital are benefiting from a brand new, state-of-the-art MRI scanner which offers the latest technology and highest quality images.

The improved images support patients’ diagnosis, and the new scanner means staff at the hospital can scan more patients which will reduce waiting times.

Staff say that patients will have a better experience; whereas patients have previously had to travel to St Bartholomew’s Hospital in the City for scans on their prostate, they can now have them at Newham.

Udesha Davids, Site Imaging Lead at Newham University Hospital, said: “This is a huge investment in Newham. The scanner is the best on the market, offering the latest technology and best quality scans which is absolutely fantastic. It’s what we’d want for our family and it’s what we want for our patients. We wanted the best and we’ve got the best.”
