Museum hosts

Our museum volunteers ensure the smooth running of St Bartholomew’s Hospital Museum, greet visitors, sell publications, and answer or pass on enquiries.

The role of the museum volunteers

Barts Health NHS Trust Archives and Museums preserve the heritage of our historic hospitals, and make it accessible to patients and visitors. Museum volunteers welcome visitors to St Bartholomew’s Hospital Museum and Royal London Hospital Museum. There may also be other opportunities to work on projects listing archive or museum collections if appropriate.

The main duties of the volunteers include:

  • Welcoming visitors to the Museum
  • Selling publications (deal with money, operate the till and give change as required)
  • Answering enquiries or direct them to the Archivists
  • Ensuring the security of the Museum and historic collections
