Clinicians at Barts Health NHS Trust have joined forces with local Muslim religious leaders to encourage residents to have a healthy and memorable Ramadan.
This year, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar starts on or around 7th June 2016 and lasts until 6th July 2016. Adults are required to fast from dawn to sunset, but those in poor health or who have deteriorating health such as the very elderly, and mothers who are breastfeeding are exempt from doing so.

Barts Health NHS Trust, the biggest NHS Trust in England, is calling for nurses to come back to the profession as it celebrates International Nurses Day on 12 May.
Return to Practice is a programme put together by Barts Health and City University to help qualified nurses, who had previously left the profession for various reasons, come back and provide quality care for the people of East London.

We are working closely with Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital NHS Trust to help them make the best use of their estate so local people have access to the best possible care.
As part of this work we are looking to find a new site for the Renal Unit within the areas of Havering, Barking & Dagenham.
