East London Mosques donate to Barts Health

Care for women who suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth has received a boost at Newham and Whipps Cross Hospitals, following a generous donation of £2,500 from east London Mosques.

Barts Health to perform world's first live virtual reality operation

An operation on a patient with colon cancer at The Royal London Hospital will be the first in the world to be broadcast live through pioneering virtual reality (VR) technology. Thousands of medical students watching remotely though VR headsets and using their smartphones will be able to learn about surgery at first hand from one of the country’s leading cancer surgeons, Dr Shafi Ahmed.

Preferred provider of private patients unit announced

Scientist speaks of fighting Ebola in Sierra Leone

A Chief Healthcare Scientist at The Royal London Hospital has spoken about his experience fighting the spread of Ebola in Sierra Leone. Xosé was among more than ten scientists from the virology centre at Barts Health NHS Trust who travelled to West Africa during the outbreak to help understand and contain the spread of the virus.
