Simulation and Essential Skills Education
The role of the Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills Taskforce is to deliver training to doctors, paramedics, nurses, allied health professions and specialist teams by using communication skills, part task clinical skills, equipment and high fidelity simulation. This ensures our clinicians have the opportunity to practice, experience and explore both technical (e.g. putting in a cannula) and non-technical skills (e.g. communication skills, team working).
A range of training programmes are offered across all our sites and the service is continuing to evolve to meet the needs of one of the largest and most diverse health providers in the country.
The Medical Education department oversees the delivery of all medical education provided by the Trust.
This includes the undergraduate programmes at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and courses for foundation and postgraduate medical staff.
We also support education programmes for general practice, dental practice, refugee education and faculty development.
