Simulation and Essential Skills Education
The role of the Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills Taskforce is to facilitate and / or deliver training to doctors, paramedics, nurses, allied health professions and specialist teams by using communication skills, part task clinical skills, equipment and high fidelity simulation. With these educational approaches they are able to practice / experience / explore both technical (e.g. putting in a cannula) and non-technical skills (e.g. communication skills, team working). The objective is to embed these educational approaches within their training and reflect their educational curriculum and patient safety agendas.
A range of training programmes are offered at all three sites and the service will evolve to meet the needs of one of the largest and most diverse health providers in the country.
The Medical Education department oversees the delivery of all medical education provided by the Trust.
This includes the undergraduate programmes at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and courses for foundation and postgraduate medical staff.
We also support education programmes for general practice, dental practice, refugee education and faculty development.
