Over the Rainbow - our all staff event last night
Last night (14 October), Louise Hicks, Barts Health CNIO and director of development, took to the stage (her desk) to host Over the Rainbow, a very special virtual thank you event for our staff and volunteers, funded by Barts Charity.
Her charm and confidence shone brightly as we embarked on a reflective journey looking back over the past 20 months, giving us a precious moment to see just how much has been achieved, and how we all drew strength in different ways.
The night was filled with beautiful insightful videos, fun polls, prize giveaways and special thank you messages.
Words of reflection were given from Alwen Williams, group chief executive, as well as from Jacqui Smith, chair in common, Adam Sewell-Jones, chief executive for Newham Hospital, Charles Knight, chief executive for St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Lucie Butler, director of nursing and governance for The Royal London Hospital, and Heather Noble, medical director for Whipps Cross Hospital who were all live-streamed on the night.
Alwen Williams said:
“From the bottom of my heart I thank every single one of you, whether you’re directly or indirectly employed by us, or one of our many volunteers, you should all feel immense pride with what you’ve accomplished. Never have I been more humbled and proud to be your chief executive.”
